Planned for 2020 and postponed due to the pandemic, the Jubilee, 5th edition of the Young Horn Player Academy took place on 4-5.06.2021.

Purpose

  • presentation of the artistic achievements of adepts of playing the Horn
  • presentation of modern methods of teaching basic horn playing
  • consultations of teachers, students and parents
  • exchange of methodological experience related to school pedagogy
  • popularizing the French horn and monitoring the development of young talents
  • presentation of the specifics of the instrument
  • integration of the horn community in Poland

  • Works of the YHPA 2021 Chapter
  • Lectures
  • Non-competitive presentations of participants
  • Horn Choir Concert

We are pleased to inform you that the event has been qualified for the Calendar of International and National Competitions of Artistic Education of the Center for Artistic Education (CEA).

Akademia Młodego Waltornisty 2018

The performance of the 74-strong Horn Choir of YHPA 2018 traditionally enjoyed a lot of interest

 

The participants of the competition are classified in four age groups:

  • 1st Group for participants born in 2011 and later
  • 2nd Group for participants born in 2008-2010
  • 3rd Group for participants born in 2005-2007
  • 4th Group for participants born in 2001-2004 .

 

Competition programme:

  • Group I – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment. The duration of the entire program is up to  5 minutes
  • Group II – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment. The duration of the entire program is 6-8 minutes
  • Group III – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment. The duration of the entire program is 8-12 minutes
  • IV group – two positions

Participation in the competition Young French Horn Player obliged to participate in the Horn Choir online .

The competition performances were evaluated by the Jury appointed by the CEA composed of:

  • Prof. Wiesław Grochowski – Chairman
  • Prof. Jindřich Petraš
  • Dr. hab. Damian Walentek

 

Participants were also awarded Diplomas of the Chapter of YHPA 2021 under the leadership of Maryla Limanowska, MA. The works of the Chapter were the culmination of a seminar and workshops for teachers on the criterion of competition evaluation.

Participants of the Festival sent their individual recordings, which were combined into the YHPA Horn Choir 2021 online . Especially for this occasion, the following pieces were composed by Jan Walczyński: Szaman (Shamane) and  Stary Wilk (The Old Wolf).
