International Competition Young Horn Player 2025

As part of the VII Young Horn Player Academy will be held

II International Mieczysław Korcz Competition
Young Horn Player

The competition includes four age categories:

• I Group for participants born in 2015 and later
• II Group for participants born in 2012-2014
• III Group for participants born in 2009-2011
• IV Group for participants born in 2004-2008

The competition is a one-stage event. Participants performed the following program:

• I Group – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment.
  The duration of the entire program is up to 5 minutes
• II Group – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment.
  The duration of the entire program is 6-8 minutes
• III Group
  1. Obligatory piece: L. Cherubini – Theme with variations (2 variations) and Polonaise
  2. Any piece (or part of a cyclical piece) with piano accompaniment. Duration of any song up to 6 minutes,
• IV Group
  1. Obligatory piece: F. Strauss – Notturno op. 7
  2. One of the compositions to choose from
  – W. A. Mozart – Concerto No. 1 in D major KV 412, I movement
  – W. A. Mozart – Concerto No. 2 in E flat major KV 417, I movement
  – W. A. Mozart – Concerto No. 3 in E flat major KV 447, I movement
  – W. A. Mozart – Concerto No. 4 in E flat major KV 495, I movement
  – Fr. Strauss – Concerto No. 1 in C minor op. 8, I movement
  – C. Saint-Saens – Morceau de Concert op. 94, I movement
  – K. Matys – Konzeststück nr 2 op. 24 I movement
  – R. Strauss – Concerto No. 1 in E flat major op. 11, I movement

It is not necessary to perform the repertoire by heart.
