The competition includes four age categories:
- I Group for participants born in 2013 and later
- II Group for participants born in 2010-2012
- III Group for participants born in 2007-2009
- IV Group for participants born in 2003-2006
The competition was a one-stage event. Participants performed the following program:
- I Group – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment.
The duration of the entire program is up to 5 minutes - II Group – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment.
The duration of the entire program is 6-8 minutes - III Group – two pieces of free choice (or two parts of a cyclical piece) with piano accompaniment.
Total duration of the entire program is 8-12 minutes - IV Group

The concert part was take place on March 26, 2023 (Sunday) at 18:00 in the Concert Hall of the Academy of Music in Katowice.

The competition auditions of Groups I-III took place on March 24 and 25, 2023 at the State Music Schools Complex. W. Kilar in Katowice.
On March 26, 2023, Group IV auditions took place at the Academy of Music in Katowice. On that day, the Silesian Horn Symposium (a series of lectures) was also held, as well as the Concert of Laureates and the performance of the Horn Choir consisting of all participants of the Festival.
