Purpose
- presentation of the artistic achievements of adepts of playing the horn
- presentation of modern methods of teaching basic horn playing
- consultations of teachers, students and parents
- exchange of methodological experience related to school pedagogy
- popularizing the horn and monitoring the development of young talents
- presentation of the specifics of the instrument
- integration of the horn community in Poland
Description
According to many suggestions, this edition has been extended for the first time by a competition part.

The Festival was open to children and youth learning to play the horn in music schools (not older than those born in 2000) and those not included in the artistic education system (cultural centers, brass bands, music centers, individual education).
The entry fee for participation in the entire Festival was PLN 50, if you wanted to participate in one day only – PLN 30. The costs of travel, accommodation and meals were borne by the participants.
The Horn CHoir was greatly appreciated by the audience
Concert and competition presentations of the participants took place in three age groups:
- 1st Group – for those born in 2006 and later
- 2nd Group – for those born in 2003-2005
- 3rd Group – for those born in 2000-2002
Concert programme:
- 1st Group – miniature solo or with piano accompaniment, the duration of which may not exceed 3 minutes
- 2nd Group – miniature solo or with piano accompaniment, the duration of which may not exceed 5 minutes
- 3rd Group – miniature solo or with piano accompaniment, the duration of which may not exceed 7 minutes
Competition programme:
- 1st Group – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment. The duration of the entire program is up to 5 minutes
- 2nd Group – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment. The duration of the entire program is 5-8 minutes
- 3rd Group – one or two pieces of choice with piano accompaniment. The duration of the entire program is 8-10 minutes.
During the festival, a lecture by dr hab. Damian Walentek from the Academy of Music in Katowice entitled Pros and cons of the music profession in Poland. There was also an exhibition of musical instruments and accessories offered by the ZM Concept company from Bydgoszcz, combined with the possibility of consulting a brass instrument restorer, who also performed free inspections and minor repairs.
Each participant received a certificate of participation and occasional gifts – t-shirts, mugs, flash drives, pens, pencils, etc.
We would like to thank the participants, teachers and parents for their participation in the festival, and we congratulate the winners on their success in the competition.

Young Horn Player Competition
The participants of the Young Horn Player competition were assessed by the Jury appointed by the Center for Artistic Education, composed of:

Concert part
This part of the Festival was a continuation of the AMW tradition in 2012 and 2014.
The YHPA concert took place in the Chamber Hall of the Silesian Philharmonic. HM Górecki in Katowice on June 19, 2016.
The concert part was open to children and youth learning to play the horn in music schools and not covered by the artistic education system (cultural centres, brass bands, music centres, individual learning) within the same age range.
The organizers of the Festival invited soloists and horn chamber ensembles (duos, trios, quartets, etc.) to participate in the YHPA concert.
Concert presentations of participants (not competition) took place in three age groups:
- 1st Group – for those born in 2006 and later
- 2nd Group – for those born in 2003-2005
- 3rd Group – for those born in 2000-2002
